Ilustration Friday- E is for....

Especially for you...
That's right the oh so perfect 1988 collaboration of those Neighbours kids Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan...

In the 80's it was all anyone wanted- to believe that Scott & Charlene were together in real life! [well in Australia & the UK maybe!]

  • Hi Bek, I'm afraid I don't know who the couple are that you refer to. Sorry
But I do like the pointillism look to the graphic.
And I am also honored to be working with you on the journal project. ;)

  • Ah...to have dreams dashed like that... I love the candy pink and the pointilized treatment...takes me right back to adolescence:>

  • I love how you captured the feel of the 80's so well. Hot pink and big hair. Beautiful! It's great that you started a traveling journal. Maybe I can join in on your next one. Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog!

  • I love the pink of this! An attractive couple...as an American I have no idea who they are, but can certainly identify with folks wanting TV stars to be real.

  • I am a HUGE Neighbours fan, oh mi gosh, I really miss it actually ... There's a big show on in the US called The O.C and last season, the mean dad character Caleb, was played by none other than 'Jim Robinson' - aaah, how hollywood calls ...

Of course, Kylie is doing so well these days but what ever happened to Jason (and his technicoloured dreamcoat!) ...

    Great illo by the way!

And what was the other rival soap with 'Bobbi" - oh, I was so addicted to them ...

  • Leeze- The show with Bobbi in it is Home and Away- im surprised you know it. It was never big in the US- though you might know it growing up in the UK- they love it there!
Jason Donovan didnt really go on to much- brought out a dodgy album off the back of this duet, but then i think he got a drug habit and kinda fell out of the spotlight. he is still about though only doing the odd tv commercial.
We got the O.C here too- Jim Robinson also featured in an episode of Alias i think and maybe 24??
